Belgium's Royal Decree of 20 June 2002 sets the operating conditions for tanning centres: at a customer's first visit, a trained reception manager (responsable d'accueil) explains the risks and determines the skin type using a customer sheet. The Flemish and Walloon governments set that training. Parcels can weigh up to 15 kg; one earlier Belgian order, in January 2026, went with DPD.

The FPS Economy's page on the safety of tanning centres summarises the Royal Decree of 20 June 2002: on a first visit, the customer has an interview with a reception manager who has received specific training, is told about the risks of UV and has their skin type determined with a customer sheet (fiche client). The training is laid down by the Flemish Government (decree of 10 October 2003) and the Walloon Government (decree of 28 August 2008).
