Glossary Term
SPF (sun protection factor) is the number on a sunscreen's label. It is measured in a standard laboratory test and rates the sunscreen against UVB; a separate UVA rating is usually shown on the pack too. Most sunbed lotions contain no SPF; when a product has one, it is printed on the label.
