    Pre-Tan Exfoliation

Pre-tan exfoliation is a crucial step in achieving a flawless self-tan. The skin naturally sheds dead cells, and if these are not removed, they can absorb tanning solution unevenly, leading to a patchy or streaky appearance. Using a body scrub, loofah, or exfoliating mitt in the shower 24-48 hours before tanning helps to slough off these dead cells. This creates a smooth canvas, allowing the tanning agents to interact uniformly with fresh skin. Proper exfoliation not only enhances the initial colour development but also promotes a more gradual and even fading of the tan, extending its overall lifespan. Pay particular attention to drier areas like elbows, knees, and ankles, which can sometimes absorb more product.
